My Bike

ARG to Intel

What a complete waste of a day! I spent the better part of 8 hours today trying to get Intel's new 7525GP server board to WOL (Wake On Lan). Several calls this morning and a bios and NIC update later Intel assured us that it was something on our side. Then finally this afternoon we get someone at Intel to admit that there possibly is something wrong with WOL on the new board. Yes, there is something wrong...IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL!!! So now the decision comes, do we wait and see if Intel is going to fix this for us, or are we going to switch to a SuperMicro board? Sorry, I just had to vent.

DNF

So I had my first DNF (Did Not Finish) in the Intermountain Cup on Saturday at Deer Valley. It really is too bad too because I was doing so well...I felt really strong. Deer Valley has one of the finest singletrack sections I have ever ridden. When we pre-rode on Thursday I had a blast and had been looking forward to this race. On the first climb I kept my bike in my middle chaining and opened up a pretty good gap. At the top of the first climb before we started the singletrack I was too close to the guy in front of me and I went over the bar into the mud. I think that I also must have done something to my chain or derailleur in the crash as well. Shortly after my crash my bike started to mis-shift and jump gears. About 1/2 an hour into the race on a switchback I stood up to mash the pedals and I heard a terrible sound as my derailleur was pulled around backwards by my chain and into my spokes ending my race. I still have the original derailleur that I hope is OK, and I have a derailleur hanger. I need to get some spokes, and hopefully I will be able to get my bike back together before the next race in Cedar City (The Utah Summer Games). DNF'ing this race will surely move me from first to third in points, and really puts the pressure on me to do well for the rest of the season.
