Wet slippery ride

I should have left a 5:00 this morning when I woke up. It was dry then. I hit snooze enough times that I didn't get out the door until almost 8:00. Not so dry now. It is always a hair raising experience to ride over wet leaves on painted surfaces. Unfortunately for me I had a blond in her SUV turn left in front of me as I was just hitting the leave covered intersection on 20th East and 33rd south. She was on her phone no less! I’m sure her conversation was way important as to endanger all those around her. I’m sure it was something like, “honey, I was thinking I should wear pink toe nail polish tonight for dinner.” Lucky for me I had anticipated that this might happen and had already rolled off the throttle and covered my brakes. It really didn’t matter. As a slid sideways through the intersection I am sure that I put on quite a show for the people waiting at the stop light. It isn’t every day that you get to see a motorcycle slide sideways through an intersection narrowly missing the behemoth SUV, the driver of which continued on her way completely oblivious to the fact she nearly killed me. In the end I kept my cool and let the bike right itself and continued on my marry way to work. I may have pissed myself, but since my rain suit leaked it would be hard to tell either way. I think it should be legal to pull a gun and shoot people talking on their phones while driving. In fact it should be mandatory when it is a blonde in an SUV.

IF the weather idiots are correct then we are supposed to get some snow in the valley today. Perhaps if it snows I can go through the intersection backwards rather than sideways. Then again if you listened to the weather idiots yesterday we only had a slight chance of rain today.

Maybe it is time for me to get a car for the winter…
