Before my first haircut in 9 months.

After my first haircut in 9 months.

The TT

So Bob let me drive his Audi TT to our workout today. Those of you who know me know that the TT is my dream car. It truly was a treat to go for a spin in such a sweet car. I hope to someday own one of my own. My respect for Bob increases every time I spend time with him. The drive was his reward to me for reaching my fist step goal of 230 pounds or less. Yesterday I weighed 228.5 and today 229.5. Two days of sub 230 = haircut. I haven't cut my hair for nearly 9 months, so I am really looking forward to my normally short hair.

The next goal is to aim for 220 or below before the first intermountain cup mountain bike race March 5th in St. George. I will be racing in the Clydesdale division (210 pounds or more). My goal this year is to finish in the top 5, which will be tuff; there are some fast guys in that class. There are 11 races this year. Check it out if you want: Intermountain Cup

Getting there...

So after today's workout my weight is now 228.5! If I can pull an under 230 tomorrow then I will get to cut my hair. So in other words I get to look forward to another day of starvation, but it will all be worth it.

On another subject...The snow is really coming down HARD. Finally after three weeks of idiot weather predictions of rain turning to snow overnight, and snow likely 1-6 inches on the benches. So in the last few hours it has snowed at least 2-4 inches, and it shows no sign of stopping. I think that this is lake effect snow, because the weather idiots predicted partly cloudy yesterday. They can never get it right.

My stationary cycle trainer should be here today. I'm excited, should have been here yesterday.

Finally the snow...

So finally after 2 weeks of the weather idiots saying, "Here comes the snow!" we got some snow. Not a ton, but too much for me to ride my motorcycle into work which sucks. This is the 3rd day this season that I haven't ridden my motor-bike. But all said, it worked out to my advantage since my trainer for my mountain bike is supposed to be here today and I needed to get my mountain bike home. Now I have the truck here, so that will be easy.

Here is a picture of my bike

My motorcycle accident

So I had my first motorcycle accident today…
But luckily it was really no big deal. The traffic in front of me on 2100 east came to a stop because some NIMROD in an SUV (blonde likely on her cell phone I would guess) wanted to turn left across a double-double yellow. The three vehicles in front of me came to a stop as did I without much ado. Moments later I heard the squealing tires and then the bump. I look over my shoulder and there is this girl with eyes about the size of pool-balls. The left front bumper of her white tempo just inches from my right leg, and her fender is resting on my exhaust. The bump did nothing more than lean my bike over. Luckily my bike is light and I was strong enough to hold it up. When the traffic cleared in front of us we pulled over and she jumped out of her car, already in tears. I got off my bike to inspect the damage, and to my surprise there wasn’t anything but a rub mark where her paint swapped to my bumper. There was no dent no scratch, nothing! So I told her no harm no foul, and not to worry about it. I was in a hurry to get home so Kirsten could get to work so I didn't stick around to 'chat'. If I had been in a four wheel cage she would surely had done substantial damage. Here is proof that bikes are safer than cars. :-)

In one respect I consider myself lucky that I didn’t get injured, on the other I wouldn’t mind a new motorcycle...

My first Blog

So the weather-idiots were wrong again last night. I don't even know why I look...I guess it is because I get so much joy from them being wrong all the time. Sometimes I have to question if they even look at the satellite before they give predictions or if they are all too stupid to do that now and rely only on the computer models the always talk about. I really have to question how someone can be wrong so often and still have a job.

The motorcycle ride in today was nice and quiet, as usual. It is always relaxing to come in early and have the morning go so smooth.

I was planning on going to Vegas this weekend with my friend Shane, but he called last night and made it sound as if my coming would put him out, so I don’t think I will. I would have really enjoyed spending some time with him, I still don’t feel like our friendship is back to 100%.

I guess this would also be as good a place as any to talk about my workout and weight reduction. Yesterday I really busted my ass off. I had my usual breakfast of two eggs. For the lunchtime workout I swam a mile in about 25 minutes. I still want to get that fewer than 20. For lunch I had my usual protein drink (mmm protein). And then for dinner I had some of my dad’s home-made stew. Then I got on the trainer and rode for an hour and a half. In the spring I hope that all of this is worth it.
