Arg! How did my motorcycle cowl get broken?

So as I put the cover on my motorcycle today (it is supposed to snow tonight) I noticed that the lower cowl plastic that holds the two halfs of my fairings together on the front was completely shattered! The hard part is I am not really sure how it happened. About 4 months ago I hit a few jack rabbits in the middle of the Nevada desert, but I was sure that I checked it out and it was fine, but then again maybe I didn't. With as broken as they are I am sure I would have noticed a crack or something. I know that nobody else has ridden my bike, and I am sure that I haven't hit anything else. My initial fears were that it would cost me a fortune to fix, but thanks to Bike Bandit.com it looks like I will have the OEM part for about $70.00, and it is even painted. Sweet. So bad news is I don't know how it happened, but the good news it isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix. While I was at it I ordered up another rear tire mmmmm Metzler...

The 2006 Mountain Bike season has officially started

Went out for a ride today, the first real ride of 2006. The trails were in suprisingly good shape with olny a few muddy spots and a few snow-packed spots. It was a really nice ride and felt good to ride something that wasn't stationary or on the road. Here is hoping for a great 2006 riding season, it certainly started the way I would like.
