Fun day of riding with a not so great ending...

Chris, Geeeoff, and I set out for a day of riding this morning. The initial intent was to get some miles on the new Triumph Tiger that has Chris grinning from ear to ear. At the bottom of Trappers Loop Geeeoff turned around to head home as he had some other pressing issues that needed his attention. he should have stayed with us. Chris and I carried on and finished the ride. I had called and left Geeeoff a message to call me so I knew he had made it home safe, and he didn't immediately respond. About an hour later I got a text message telling me he wasn't going to make it to our Fall Torrey trip. Knowing Geeeoff there is only two reasons for this; either his girlfriend is pregnant or he crashed his motorcycle (my old bike). Fortunately it was the second and even more fortunately he wasn't seriously injured. For that I am grateful. Geeeoff is one of my best friends and I would hate to see him die doing something that I led him to. He was in a sweeping turn near East Canyon Damn and he hit some gravel on the road resulting in a high-side get off into the guard rail. I have been out to visit, and other than a nasty bruise on his hip (and ego) he is just fine. I haven't given up on getting him on the motorcycle for the Torrey trip. I have found almost all of the parts he needs to get the bike up and running on eBay. Hopefully I can have them here in a week or so and try to get him on the road again so we can work on getting his confidence on two wheels back.

Glad you aren't hurt worse. Now you can say you are the type of rider that has been down. I think they are the kind we all end up being eventually anyhow.
